Installing AgentWarden without a person present
Last updated 23 September 2026
For store certification, IT deployment and anyone scripting an install. AgentWarden for Windows installs for one person, in that person’s own folder, with no administrator rights and no restart.
The silent install
AgentWarden-Setup-<version>.exe /S
No windows appear and no questions are asked. The installer is signed by PRAESI TECHNOLOGIES LTD. Running it again over an existing copy upgrades it in place and keeps the person’s settings and incident log.
What it changes
- Copies the program to
%LOCALAPPDATA%\AgentWarden. Nothing is written outside the person’s profile. - Registers an app identity and a Start menu entry, so Windows will show its notifications.
- Registers the
agentwarden://link handler and a read-only “Check with AgentWarden” right-click verb, both underHKCU. - Creates a Scheduled Task so it starts at sign-in, as the signed-in person, never as SYSTEM. Where a policy forbids a scheduled task, a
Runentry underHKCUis used instead. - No desktop shortcut unless the person asks for one, no reboot, no bundled software, no telemetry.
Return codes
The installer answers on the only question an install can settle: is the program on this PC and can it be run?
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
0 | Installation successful. AgentWarden is installed and set to start at sign-in. |
1 | Installation cancelled by the person. |
2 | Installation failed: the program could not be placed on this PC. The details pane and the installer log say why. |
Nothing else is treated as a failure. If a policy on the PC refuses one of the extras above, for example a scheduled task or a registry class, the installer reports it as a warning, installs anyway and answers 0, because the program is there and works. A restart is never required, so there is no reboot code.
Uninstalling
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\AgentWarden\Uninstall AgentWarden.exe" /S
Everything above is removed. The incident log is kept by default, because it is the record of what your agents did; the interactive uninstaller offers to delete it.
